Greta Lapesa: Monitoring Pattern

Greta Lapesa

The project explores how technical data from a computer can be represented through an abstract visual language. Starting from the observation of computer parameters, I developed a generative pattern that translates this information into a modular composition of geometric shapes.
The goal is to transform functional and invisible elements, usually confined to technical interfaces, into a visual experience that evolves over time and connects technology with perception.

Uptime

The uptime of the computer is represented through a chromatic variation of the widget’s background. By juxtaposing two images, it becomes possible to observe how this technical parameter is visualized: the color gradually shifts according to the duration of activity, making an otherwise invisible data perceptible through a continuous visual transformation.

Legenda

Next to the animation of the pattern generator, a typographic legend displays the system data in real time, making the connection between numerical information and its visual translation explicit. The legend presents the parameters as follows:

+ Battery: 00%

◇ CPU Load: 00%

× RAM Usage: 00%

● Mouse Position: X: 00, Y: 00

☆ Uptime: 00:00:00

○ CPU Thermometer: 00%
